Gord Lane

President & Founder - Gord Lane

Gord Lane has been at the helm since the inception of Lane Building in 2006. Through his clear vision and innovative leadership the business has grown to prominence within the Baltimore/Washington Corridor.

Unlike most entrepreneurs Gord did not learn the business from the ground up. He began his career in the real estate development business purchasing and developing real estate for a select clientele. He specialized in multiple product types including both residential and light commercial. His move into Construction Management and General Contracting stemmed from his need to better understand the final stage of the development process. Gord began as a project laborer, and then with more involvement and dedication honed his skills as a carpenter and crew leader. He uses these years of hands on experience to now manage the many details of the Company’s projects, which have ranged in size from 1,000 to14,000 square feet.

Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, Gord moved to the United States in 1973 after being drafted by the National Hockey League. His experience in the NHL with both the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders helped to mold his understanding of the “Team Concept,” the core ingredient behind any (or most) successful companies. He believes that without understanding and abiding by “The Team Concept” a company will be hard-pressed to produce great results.
